This article mainly talked about how much methods for treating breast cancer have improved over the years. When a woman talked about how her surgery severely messed up her breasts, I felt so sad for all those who suffer the side affects of earlier surgeries for the cancer. For other cancers, too, so many side affects have been taken out, and the risk factor is so much smaller.
Also in this article, new surgeons,called oncoplasctic surgeons, help the victims of breast cancer with how they look after the surgery, and getting rid of it, too. This is a great advance, because many women will be ecstatic to live without cancer, and to also look about the same as they had before.
Scientists are also leading many studies as to what exactly causes breast cancer. Good nutrition, moderately drinking, and controlling a healthy weight are all very possible ways to decrease the risk of getting breast cancer. This is all very good news, and I hope soon that scientists will improve the lives of even more people with breast cancer, because it must be terrible to live with it.
